Cuba
Cuba is a complicated place to visit but it was worth the effort, a sort of time warp full of incongruities.

A tourism signature is of the course all the old American cars but this is more a tourist hook than reality. Despite the abject poverty, Cuba has the highest doctor-to-population ratio in the world and they have a rich culture in the arts, especially literature. Ernest Hemingway lived there for most of 30 years and a visit to his house is an essential.
