Diving with Whale Sharks

Cenderawasih Bay is located in West Papua and the western part of the park has been declared a marine national park.  On a trip around the Spice Islands, Papua & PNG we had the experience to swim with a pod of 8 Whale Sharks (Rhincodon typus), an intially scary experience to be up so close to these monsters. But after a while the blood pressure dropped and we felt relaxed as the animals and we visitors lazily swum around each other in these warm tropical waters.  An amazing experience !
