We're Both Very Patient
For a number of years now we have both been involved in acting as patients for students training and being examined at Latrobe University and Charles Sturt University. This covers physio & occupational therapy and nursing courses. Sometimes training videos are also made with us as patients. It’s good fun and it is possible to learn a lot at the same time.
Another patient simulation role we have involves the training and examination of Registrars who converting to become rural GPs. Here we are given a clinical scenario to play/act to try and give a realistic approach to what they may see in their practice. Each case is then reviewed with input from the medical educator and the patient simulator. And we get paid as well, helps keep the wolves from the doors!
